Adneuris Therapeutics has granted Zhejiang Conba Pharmaceutical an exclusive license to develop and commercialize cebranopadol for pain treatment across Greater China, a region encompassing mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan.

The agreement marks a significant territorial expansion for cebranopadol, Adneuris's pain candidate, extending its commercial rights beyond existing markets. Zhejiang Conba Pharmaceutical assumes responsibility for advancing the asset through development and bringing it to market across the licensed territories.

Cebranopadol, a nociceptin receptor agonist, has been positioned by Adneuris as a potential pain therapeutic. The licensing structure allows Adneuris to extend the molecule's reach into one of the world's largest pharmaceutical markets while Zhejiang Conba takes on localized development and regulatory obligations.

The deal reflects the growing appetite among Chinese pharmaceutical companies to license innovative therapeutics from Western biotech developers, particularly in pain management where market demand remains substantial. Such licensing arrangements typically involve milestone payments tied to development progress and regulatory approvals, though specific financial terms were not disclosed.

Zhejiang Conba Pharmaceutical operates across multiple therapeutic areas and brings regional regulatory expertise critical for navigating the distinct approval pathways across mainland China and the special administrative regions. The company's involvement signals confidence in cebranopadol's commercial viability in the Asia-Pacific region.

For Adneuris, the transaction represents validation of its pipeline assets and provides a capital-efficient route to geographic expansion without bearing the full operational and regulatory burden of direct market entry.
