Choose Chicago has secured an exclusive partnership with Amazon to feature the city as a dedicated travel destination during Prime Day, June 23-26. The arrangement marks the first time Chicago has been showcased through Amazon's Prime Day Travel Deals experience, one of the largest online shopping events globally.

Hotels participating in the promotion will offer discounts of 20% off rates, with bookings powered by Expedia. Booking availability extends into the first quarter of 2027. Select hotels are also offering 10% discounts during Early Prime Deals ahead of June 23. Current participants include Fairmont Chicago, Millennium Park; LondonHouse Chicago, Curio Collection by Hilton; The Emily Hotel; Moxy Chicago Downtown; The Westin Chicago River North; and others, with additional properties being added through the event launch.

Kristen Reynolds, President and CEO of Choose Chicago, described the partnership as a significant competitive opportunity. "By partnering with Amazon, Chicago is being showcased to millions of consumers during one of the most influential shopping moments of the year," Reynolds said. "This is the type of innovative, high-visibility opportunity that allows us to compete more aggressively on the global stage while delivering measurable results for our hotel community."

The timing aligns with several marquee moments for the city. This summer brings the opening of the Obama Presidential Center on the South Side, America's 250th anniversary celebrations, and the centennial of Route 66, which runs from Navy Pier in Chicago to Santa Monica Pier in California. Nick OrRico, General Manager at Fairmont Chicago, Millennium Park, noted the convergence of events. "Chicago is having a moment, and there has never been a better time to visit our city," OrRico said. "With the centennial of Route 66 and an incredible lineup of cultural attractions and events, Chicago is firmly in the spotlight."

Choose Chicago positions the city as offering year-round experiences across its 77 neighborhoods, with summer activities including Lollapalooza and Taste of Chicago in Grant Park, fall access to eight professional sports teams and the Chicago International Film Festival, and winter events including Christkindlmarket and the 35th Annual Wintrust Magnificent Mile Lights Festival in Streeterville.

As travel marketing increasingly depends on algorithmic placement and platform partnerships, exclusive destination slots during high-traffic shopping events represent a growing lever for convention and visitors bureaus competing for travel spend.
