Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge Reopens After CAD $100MM Transformation
The Canadian Rockies resort completes property-wide renovation, redesigning over 330 guest rooms and introducing new dining venues and adventure programming.
Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge has completed an extensive CAD $100MM transformation of its 700-acre property in Jasper National Park, marking a significant capital investment in the alpine luxury segment. The project involved redesigning more than 330 of the resort's 397 guest rooms, suites, and Signature Cabins, alongside a reimagined Main Lodge and arrival experience.
The redesign centers on what the resort describes as a "Wellness Without Walls" philosophy, positioning nature as central to the guest experience. Interiors employ blue tones inspired by glacial lakes paired with organic textures and carved wood details. The Signature Cabins—including Outlook Cabin and Point Cabin—remain focal points, designed for multi-generational stays and private gatherings. Each cabin provides direct access to the surrounding wilderness.
The arrival experience now centers on a refreshed Main Lodge featuring views of Lac Beauvert and Whistlers Mountain from a new lakeside patio. Embark Outpost + Provisions serves as an adventure hub and general store where guests can book guided experiences, prepare for excursions, and purchase locally roasted coffee and artisan goods. The property will introduce Camp JPL Adventure Club in late summer, offering supervised programming for children ages 5-12.
Three signature dining venues anchor the culinary offering. Lume, positioned in the former Emerald Lounge, emphasizes garden-forward menus and evolving light throughout the day. Additional venues draw inspiration from the region's forests and elemental contrasts, focusing on elevated local ingredients and zero-waste techniques.
The investment reflects Oxford Properties' broader Canadian commitment. The owner has invested more than $2B in Canada since 2025, according to Tyler MacDonald, Senior Vice President and Head of Hotels at Oxford Properties. "When you invest in a place like Jasper, with such deep ties to Canada and its history, you take on a responsibility that goes well beyond the property itself," MacDonald said.
The project positions Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge within a competitive luxury hospitality market increasingly focused on wellness and environmental stewardship. The scale of the renovation—affecting three-quarters of guest accommodations—suggests confidence in sustained demand for high-end wilderness retreats in the North American luxury segment.
