Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea has opened Kai Holo Spa, a wellness facility anchored by an aquathermal center featuring three hydrotherapy pools: a vitality pool, therapeutic hot pool, and invigorating cold plunge. The name translates to "flowing tide" in Hawaiian.
The spa's central space includes a sculptural cleft black granite wall, steam room, sensory experience shower, traditional sauna, and infrared sauna. Pathways and cascading water surround the pools, while lighting throughout the aquathermal center, relaxation lounge, and treatment rooms is calibrated to optimize circadian rhythms.
The treatment menu includes four signature Pacific Journeys rituals. The Kai Holo Signature Oceanside Ritual progresses from a warm black sea-salt foot soak through a resort-harvested honey and sugar polish, kukui oil massage, and scalp ritual. The Piko Mālama Wahine features a warm herbal poultice of honey, lemon balm, chamomile, and lavender followed by kukui oil massage and amla oil scalp ritual. The Spirulina & Astaxanthin Ocean Detox Body Ritual combines dry brushing with a warm seaweed and Hawaiʻi-grown spirulina wrap, then a lomi lomi massage with astaxanthin-infused oil. The Queen's Garden Fern Ritual uses native fern oil from Kauai and island botanicals in a massage, followed by a warm lava mask applied to spine and feet, wrapped in ti leaves.
Beyond these rituals, Kai Holo offers facial treatments blending bio-hacking technology with skincare science, bodywork, and curated wellness services. Adjacent to the spa, a newly redesigned longevity center—built on an established collaboration with Next|Health since 2021—provides biomarker testing, IV therapy, and NAD+ treatments, with a hyperbaric chamber arriving in late summer. A reimagined fitness center includes sandstone-color Technogym equipment, body composition analysis, and an infrared Movement Studio offering yoga, Pilates reformer, and outdoor TRX classes. Signature wellness retreat programming will debut later this year.
The spa marks the centerpiece of the 383-room oceanfront property's comprehensive transformation, guided by internationally renowned firm Meyer Davis. The redesign encompasses guest rooms, suites, and the Club Floor while maintaining the resort's Forbes Five-Star standing. The property sits on fifteen acres along the Wailea Coast and operates four restaurants: Ferraro's Restaurant & Bar, Wolfgang Puck's Spago Maui, DUO Steak and Seafood, and KOMO.
The expansion reflects the luxury hospitality sector's growing focus on integrated wellness programming as a driver of occupancy and rate justification across resort portfolios.
