Hilton Garden Inn New York/Manhattan-Midtown East has completed a full-property renovation of its 207 guestrooms, public spaces, and amenities, marking the first property in the Hilton Garden Inn chain to offer convertible room accommodations with integrated wall beds.

Located on East 52nd Street in Midtown East, the redesign was led by Baskervill and introduces 14 convertible room types alongside updated furnishings, expanded work surfaces, and new technology infrastructure across all guestrooms. The renovation reflects the brand's Bloom design scheme with custom touches including warm textures, modern finishes, and a palette of blue tones accented with yellow.

The convertible accommodations consist of two primary configurations. Workspace Rooms function as private offices or conference spaces for up to four people during the day, featuring expansive work surfaces and 55-inch HDTVs with seamless HDMI connectivity, then convert into king bedrooms at night. Studio Rooms serve as residential living areas by day and transform into king bedrooms at night, designed for longer-stay guests, families, and visitors seeking proximity to nearby Memorial Sloan Kettering. Both room types can connect with adjacent guestrooms to create multi-room suites.

All guestrooms now include stylish furnishings, dedicated work areas, upgraded Hospitality Centers with microwaves, mini-fridges, and Keurig coffee makers, conveniently placed charging ports, adjustable reading lamps, laptop-sized safes, blackout curtains, Digital Key access, complimentary Wi-Fi, and 55-inch HDTVs with streaming capabilities and premium channels. Select accommodations offer city views, outdoor terraces, and connecting-room configurations.

The reimagined lobby maximizes existing architecture through banquettes, communal tables, and distinct seating areas. Updates to the fitness center include new Peloton and Precor equipment. The property features AtmosAir air-purification technology in every guestroom and public area. The Back Room Restaurant & Bar serves as a social hub with original wood wall paneling, an elevated bar, pool table, arcade games, and varied seating styles. The venue features commissioned artwork titled Speakeasy Subway and offers breakfast, dinner, and evening cocktails alongside a signature Smash Burger and curated cocktail program.

According to General Manager Joel Ruiz, the renovation responds to how people gather, work, and travel today, creating spaces for overnight guests, local residents, and business travelers. The hotel also introduced A New Tune in Midtown, a limited-time package featuring a self-guided walking map of music destinations, a hotel-curated Spotify playlist, and two signature cocktails at The Back Room. The convertible room offerings position the property to compete for extended-stay bookings and corporate relocations in a market where flexibility has become a primary amenity metric.
