Hilton Shifts Waldorf Astoria and Conrad to All-Inclusive Models in Mexico
Two luxury resort brands transition their Riviera Maya properties to all-inclusive operations, with Waldorf Astoria becoming adults-only and Conrad adding a ded
Hilton is converting Waldorf Astoria Riviera Maya and Conrad Tulum Riviera Maya to all-inclusive resort operations, marking a strategic pivot for the company's luxury portfolio in Mexico's Caribbean coast market.
Effective immediately, both properties are introducing all-inclusive packages. Beginning January 10, 2027, Waldorf Astoria Riviera Maya will transition to an adults-only experience for registered guests aged 18 and older. Conrad Tulum Riviera Maya will remain multi-generational while introducing Ceiba Club, a dedicated adults-only section for registered guests aged 18 and older within the broader resort.
The repositioning reflects a shift in how affluent travelers perceive luxury accommodations. According to Sylvia Scholey, vice president and global head All-Inclusive and Resorts at Hilton, contemporary guests increasingly seek ease and personalization without the friction of constant transactional decisions. "Today's travelers want the freedom and ease of an All-Inclusive resort, paired with the distinctive depth, personalization and sense of place they expect from Hilton's award-winning luxury brands," Scholey said.
Waldorf Astoria Riviera Maya positions itself as an oceanfront sanctuary centered on privacy and personalized service. The property will feature a dedicated Personal Concierge for each guest, anticipated to coordinate dining reservations, wellness appointments, excursions and daily experiences. Culinary programming includes venues such as Malpeque with live-fire service, Chaya featuring a Mesa de Maíz, JA'O focused on agave discovery, Peacock Alley for breakfast and afternoon tea, and BonbonOm highlighting Mexican coffee experiences. The resort will offer curated experiences spanning wellness, culture, gastronomy and creativity, with stays of four consecutive nights or longer including one selected resort experience or destination excursion per stay. Additional inclusions encompass 24-hour in-room dining, daily minibar refreshment, arrival amenities and private round-trip airport transfers from Cancun International Airport for eligible direct bookings.
Conrad Tulum Riviera Maya will position itself as a multi-generational retreat emphasizing discovery and culinary variety. The property sits along a secluded bay where jungle, mangroves and the Caribbean Sea converge.
Existing reservations at Waldorf Astoria Riviera Maya will be honored according to original terms, except for reservations including guests under 18 with arrival dates on or after January 10, 2027, for which the resort will offer alternative accommodation and personalized assistance.
The move underscores Hilton's strategy to capture the growing luxury all-inclusive segment, where affluent travelers increasingly accept the all-inclusive model when paired with premium service standards and brand distinction.
