Margaritaville at Sea Plants Flagship in Galveston, Expanding Caribbean Reach

Margaritaville at Sea will position its newest flagship, Beachcomber, in Galveston beginning October 2027, the cruise line announced, marking an expansion into one of the country's largest cruise gateways with itineraries spanning the Caribbean and Latin America.
The ship will operate four- to seven-night cruises from Galveston to destinations including Aruba, Key West, Curaçao, Grand Cayman, Montego Bay, Belize, Progreso, Roatán, Cozumel, Grand Bahama Island, Bimini, and Veracruz, Mexico. Veracruz represents a new addition to the Galveston cruise market. According to the company, Beachcomber will offer a more diverse lineup of itineraries from Galveston than competing cruise lines operating from the port. Bookings are currently available.
Christopher Ivy, Chief Executive Officer of Margaritaville at Sea, said the deployment aligns the brand with a key geographic market. "Texas knows how to have a good time, so bringing Margaritaville at Sea to Galveston feels like a natural fit," Ivy stated. "With Beachcomber, we're giving guests an incredible ship and more choices for where their vacation can take them, including places they simply can't reach on other cruises from Galveston."
Beachcomber will feature more than 15 experiences designed exclusively for the ship, alongside existing venues including 5 o'Clock Somewhere, Hemisphere Dancer, Cheeseburger in Paradise, and License to Chill. The vessel will also include Same Boat, described as the world's first artist-designed live music venue on the water, created in collaboration with three-time GRAMMY Award winner Zac Brown. The venue will pair live performances with elevated cocktails and showcase talent curated specifically for the Texas market.
The Galveston deployment expands access to Margaritaville at Sea's offering across Texas and the Central United States. Before repositioning to Galveston, Beachcomber will operate from PortMiami beginning in 2027, offering four- to eight-night itineraries to the Eastern and Southern Caribbean. The line operates two additional vessels: the Islander, which departs from Port Tampa Bay on four- to ten-night voyages to Mexico and the Western Caribbean, and the Paradise, which operates three- to five-night cruises from Palm Beach to The Bahamas and Key West.
The move signals Margaritaville at Sea's strategy to distribute its expanding fleet across major U.S. cruise ports while building brand presence in underserved markets along the Gulf Coast.
