oneworld and Indian Hotels Company Limited announced a loyalty partnership linking the global airline alliance to the hospitality group's Taj InnerCircle - NeuPass program, effective immediately. The agreement represents the first loyalty collaboration between an airline alliance and hotel group of this scope.
The partnership extends oneworld's network of nearly 1,000 destinations to IHCL's portfolio of 630 hotels across four continents. oneworld member airlines include Alaska Airlines/Hawaiian Airlines, American Airlines, British Airways, Cathay Pacific, Fiji Airways, Finnair, Iberia, Japan Airlines, Malaysia Airlines, Oman Air, Qantas, Qatar Airways, Royal Air Maroc, Royal Jordanian and SriLankan Airlines. The hotel group operates brands including Taj, Claridges Collection, Brij, SeleQtions, Clarks, Gateway, Vivanta, Ginger, Tree of Life, and amã Stays & Trails.
oneworld Emerald members receive 15 percent discounts on room rates, food and non-alcoholic beverages, and spa treatments at participating properties. Ruby and Sapphire members, along with all other members, receive 10 percent discounts. All oneworld members booking their first stay at participating IHCL properties unlock vouchers for additional savings on accommodations and food and beverage experiences. oneworld Emerald members will be matched to Taj InnerCircle - NeuPass Gold status, while Ruby and Sapphire members receive Silver status. In reverse, Taj InnerCircle - NeuPass Gold and Platinum members holding frequent flyer memberships with oneworld carriers will be matched to oneworld Sapphire tier, while Copper and Silver members receive Ruby tier status.
Ole Orvér, oneworld CEO, cited annual travel volumes as a driver. "With 10 million international customers travelling to and from India each year on oneworld member airlines, this partnership recognises and rewards our customers across a key global market," he said. The 11 oneworld member airlines collectively serve 17 Indian cities from destinations throughout Asia, Europe, North America and the Middle East.
Puneet Chhatwal, Managing Director and CEO of IHCL, framed the arrangement as part of a broader shift toward integrated ecosystems. "As we expand Taj's international footprint, this alliance will strengthen our ability to engage a wider global audience," he said. The two organizations indicated they will explore points earning opportunities on hotel stays through oneworld airline loyalty programs as the partnership evolves.
