PharmAla Licenses ALA-002 to Jupiter Neurosciences for U.S. Market

PharmAla Biotech has executed a definitive license agreement with Jupiter Neurosciences, granting the latter exclusive U.S. rights to ALA-002, a patented molecule in the company's pipeline.

Under the terms of the definitive agreement, PharmAla will receive upfront and development payments as part of the transaction structure. The financial terms were not disclosed.

The out-licensing arrangement represents a capital-generation strategy for PharmAla, which retains rights to the molecule outside the U.S. market. Jupiter Neurosciences assumes responsibility for development and commercialization of ALA-002 in the United States.

PharmAla Biotech has focused on developing compounds in the psychedelic-assisted therapeutic space, while Jupiter Neurosciences operates in the neuroscience sector. The deal underscores ongoing consolidation and partnership activity in biotech licensing, where companies with earlier-stage assets seek partners to fund development and advance programs through clinical pathways.

The agreement includes typical protections for both parties around intellectual property and regulatory milestones. As is standard in such arrangements, Jupiter Neurosciences will bear clinical development costs and regulatory filing responsibilities for the U.S. market.
